Calligraphy triggers schooltime memories of learning to write, or the handwriting of loved ones passed, and notes scribed with love. For me, lettering is an escape & outlet for my thoughts. It connects me with myself & others through ways like gifts or journalling. 

But my real passion is problem solving to build new things with skills just learnt for the betterment of others.

Learning to Letter

I was asked to create a wedding sign 8 years ago where I fell into the Pinterest rabbit hole. I started incorporating it into little graphic design jobs as something quirky, but quickly saw the real value of creating something deliberately with your hands in an overwhelmingly digital world.

Like all things, calligraphy & lettering is it’s own changing world of inspiration, influencers and ideas. And my advice to you if you’re just starting out is focus on your own paper. You don’t need to get anything out of it, if you enjoy, that’s enough.

About me

I’ve just started an Aerospace Engineering degree at UQ to become an astronaut.

Space is our species next big unknown, and I want to be a part of the trailblazing movement to get to Mars and feed back everything we’ve learnt back home on Earth.

My heads in stars with my feet planted back on Earth.

I’m also a funny blend of creature comforts and adrenaline. I love my staples of gym, yoga & beach, and keen on getting outdoors with my rock climbing, learning to kitesurf & skydive.

But what I love most is the time spent with and for my friends & loved ones on the Sunshine Coast xx
